Hi,
I'm Rebecca and I am a plus size cis woman living in the midwest
United States. I've always had an obsession with beauty, clothes and
makeup. In one word, I'd describe my style as femme.
I
started blogging about plus size fashion in 2011. Under the name
Prettygirlglam, I had a presence on Tumblr of mostly outfit posts
with the occasional makeup or beauty post. During this time I was
featured in the blog Inside Igigi. After a brief hiatus, I continued
blogging and changed my name to Pheobesfatshion in honor of my pen
name, Pheobe Meryll.
My
intention with blogging is to provide representation for fat people
in the fashion community. Showcasing how clothing can look great on
a plus size body is important to me. Spreading the message of body
positivity, or more specifically fat positivity, is my focus.
I
challenge the idea that plus size people must wear flattering
clothing. I reject the notion that fat equals unhealthy. I believe
in having radical self love for the body that houses and sustains
you.
The
photography portion of my blog will be a work in progress. I mostly
shoot using my iphone and a tripod. The writing part of my blog will
vary from fashion-focused posts to body positive ramblings.
